Heartbreak...Un-referral

Really heart breaking news at our house today...
The kids we have been looking at, thinking about, talking about, loving and trying to adopt for the last 6 months may have just become 'unadoptable.' You see, in their referral paperwork it said one of their parents was deceased. The orphanage director got some information, after our referral, that they might not be deceased, just missing. Well, they had to investigate but said not to worry because it happens all the time. They would just have to have the other parent red0 the paperwork saying that the absent parent was disappeared, not deceased. We got news today that they now can't find the parent who has to redo all of the paperwork. This means that as of now, we can't adopt our kids. Nor can they go back to their birth parents. Nor can they stay in the transition home they've been in for the last 5 months. They have to go back to an orphanage and stay there.
Our case manager said they will wait and see if anything develops over the weekend, but things really don't look good.
I guess.... that's really all I can say.
I'm out of words.

Mer's Dearest Love...

and why our neighbors probably hate us. The Cinderella movie starring Brandi, Bernadette Peters, and Whitney Houston. Yeah, she sings loudly... but with so much enthusiasm! I will, however, admit that after the 600th rendition it may lose its charm for non relatives.

My Daughter: Flower Girl/Felon Part 1:The Flower Girl

My brother got married last weekend, and Meron got to be one of their two flower girls. While she didn't actually make it down the aisle (it wasn't entirely her fault... due to a photographer with no sense of time Meron was napless and hungry when the wedding started), she did run around and look cute before and after the wedding. That counts, right? The wedding and reception were great fun, and we are super happy for my brother and his wife, Talia. I think that the highlight of her night was when our entire family and basically everyone my brother invited to the reception danced in a circle around Meron and her Papa when Mer's favorite song came on. She has been making us recreate it (although it is much less fun with just the three of us). Here are some Flower Girl pictures. Part II, My Daughter the Felon to follow...
