Here is what I have in mind for E: Let him know that his grades don't reflect on who he is as a person and how much he is loved. Let him explore everything he wants to explore and encourage him to pursue his passion/s wholeheartedly, no matter what these passions are and how we feel about them. Don't let the education system scare us into believing that E HAS to follow the systems pre-decided path. As long as E does what he loves to do, it means he will lead a 'successful' life. Whether that involves an academic career and a super-job etc. is not how his success will be measured. Being happy with what he does and how he leads his life is all the success he needs. Lots of love, XO
